Well what an amazing morning at the Pancare Unite for Hope 2024 in between the good old Melbourne 4 seasons of weather. To my extended Pancare family you are all truly amazing humans and cannot thank you all enough for not only your ongoing love, care and support but for giving us the opportunity to be part of such a special day.
Also a huge shoutout to the Tangerine team for their ongoing support to Pancare’s mission to connect patients with specialist cancer nurses, as the flagship Unite for Hope Sponsor.
Some big milestones met including my 4 years + 1 day of survival, Pancare State of the Nation launch and our BUGIC battle song debut “Here with Me”. What a great celebration with everybody including our beautiful family and friends. Debra and I certainly don’t take these precious times for granted and strive to focus on the important things, not the urgent.
To be able to share another moment in time with all of you was truly amazing, fortunate and humbling.
I just wanted to quickly say an enormous THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU to everybody. Words are not enough.
At times it becomes quite overwhelming but my god your support, does it fuel me to continue the fight.
Now to Luke and James (Have a Good Day music) what an awesome story telling of my cancer journey in song. They have listened to me over time, translated so much meaning into words and hit the ball well and truly out of the park.
I cannot thank you both enough for the time, effort, love, care and respect you have given that will not only help me in my ongoing battle but hopefully many more of my Upper GI cancer mates might use it to help them fight. You can follow them on Instagram @have.a.good.day.music - Click here
The final production version of “Here With Me” comes out later this week and will find itself on Spotify. We will share the link once it happens. You can view the back story, listen to one of the final draft versions of the song and sing along with the lyrics. All published on our BUGIC Foundation website under stories tab.
Also thanks for your donations which will continue to help fund research to find a fix and save lives.
We as a collective have made such a positive impact on others through these 4 years and we all should be very proud.
