Par 5 Ambassador
Over the past couple of years I have been fortunate enough to play a small part being involved in the evolution of the Par5 brand as part of the relationship BUGIC Foundation share with the Pancare Foundation and being a cancer patient so kindly supported by them.
Now Par5 has evolved into an amazing business program with great people, great businesses all working and collaborating to have positive impact and to ultimately create more sustainable and scalable funding for cancer research.
This August I was invited to attend the first Par 5 Melbourne Business Breakfast at the RACV club in Melbourne and was proudly honored to be made a Par5 Ambassador. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to share my cancer journey with an extremely captive audience which I am proud to say I think I made quite a positive impact. The morning was truly inspiring and in reflection quite overwhelming.
Also on the day Keynote Speaker Mike Rolls also joined the Par5 Ambassador club. Mike is a leading authority on unlocking Resilience in (and outside) the workplace., drawing from extensive personal experience with adversity. At 18, Mike survived one of the deadliest diseases meningococcal septicaemia, enduring severe internal and external injuries, including multiple amputations. This life-changing event propelled him on an unexpected journey to support individuals and businesses in prioritizing mental health and well-being. Through his work, Mike delivers practical solutions that help people unlock higher levels of resilience in both their personal and professional lives. Words cannot explain how much of a profound positive impact he not only had on myself but on the entire audience. Click here to visit Mikes website and learn more about this amazing individual.
My role ongoing will include helping Pancare Foundation to create greater awareness and assist raising research funding for upper gastrointestinal cancer. One of my main tasks initially will be to continue to share my patient journey talking openly about the struggles and impact on myself, my family and friends. One of the most profound messages to share is the ability to talk about the importance of mental health and how that contributes to toughness and facing this brutal challenge daily. Focus will also be to champion the Par 5 Business program within both the Par5 community and my own internal network.
Looking forward to being a guest speaker at the Floorworld - “Step up for a cure” 2024 campaign Launch this October and also the Clough Family Group / Pakenham Mazda Charity Night at Pakenham Races in November.
